UPDATE, Aug. 13 - As part of the culvert replacement project, Summertrees Drive will be closed to through traffic between East University Drive and Morning Glory Circle for approximately one month beginning today, Aug. 13. Summertrees Drive will remain accessible via Ferndale Drive throughout the closure.

In addition, traffic on East University Drive will undergo a lane shift beginning Friday, Aug. 14.  Drivers are encouraged to use caution and to allow extra travel time through the work area.

AUBURN, Ala. - The City of Auburn will begin work on the East University Drive and Summertrees Drive Culvert Replacement Project tomorrow, July 21. The work is expected to be completed this Fall.

The project consists of replacing the existing corrugated metal culverts with a new reinforced concrete box culvert system and repaving East University Drive at the Town Creek walking trail crossing near Summertrees Drive.

East University Drive will remain open to traffic throughout the construction, however, traffic will be shifted into temporary travel lanes as work progresses. Drivers should expect changing traffic patterns, reduced lane widths and are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time through the work area.

The Town Creek walking trail may be temporarily closed in the work area for limited periods.
